Heroes.

Jaylin Lopez

Once there were four random teens, just like any other teens their age, they had a friend group with their own little labels.

Sam: The funny one

Xarian: The cool one (the leader)

Emma: the sad one

Jay: The happy one

The four teens were said to be heroes, helping the world without the supernatural. Despite having no powers, they helped many people, doing the little things in this world that more people need to do. Doing little things in big ways.

BUT one day, during an accident, a science accident. A big bang if you must, Jay, Sam, Xarian, and Emma came to help clean up the destroyed place. It had many pieces of rubble, the walls were fully down, and pretty much gone. The place had blood stains and lots of destroyed machines. It was honestly chilling. Many people had died there that day, family members lost, FRIENDS..gone. This was very serious for the team. Obviously, it wasn’t their fault, but they still wanted to help as much as possible.

But another thought was that maybe they were at fault…Robert. Now, you don’t know who this is, so let me explain why he thinks that the teens are at fault. And why does he think that he should get payback… Robert was a very nice guy at the time, sweet, handsome, charming. He had the nicest skin and the prettiest… organs. So very healthy. And Robert had a friend, whose name was Jamie, who was the sweetest girl you’d ever met, and they both worked at the labs together for this science project. It was all about gravity; they were trying to create a small enough gravity pull to go inside someone’s body and help people with skin conditions that make your skin fall off… It was genius… until one day, when Robert was working the machine for the gravity pull, the machine crashed, exploded, ripping many people apart. Including Jamie, Robert had gotten pulled in, feeling every piece of skin on his body slit into strips and burned from the cold air on his fresh bleeding muscle. Until the gravity pull actually did what it was supposed to, make a gravity pull inside of his body pulling all the skin back, it was so painful..but not as painful as the horror of seeing his one and only friend die in the fires of the chaos. He was a monster now…alive, but at what cost? He looked at the mess around him… and realized the only thing different about today is that those teens were here..helping.. “Tch, they weren’t helping, they were messing crap up, this is why this happened, this is why SHES dead!!” he stomped up, fighting the pain, looking around at the splatters of blood, only feeling the sense of dread and violence. Blaming everyone but himself.

A few days later, the team of teens went to the lab yet again to help out with cleaning and fixing up the place, when randomly Emma was struck, it felt like a punch to the back and stomach, her lip bled, and all she could think was.. “Did he just hit me?”. Seeing the shadowy figure strike Emma, their friend, they started to freak out.

Everyone started to look around, Xarian being the calmest, just sighed and looked around with his team. Jay had run over and followed Xarian, clearly nervous, and Sam strayed away from the group… feeling a tug to the heart. Maybe it was nerves, I mean, it was their first villain, if you could call them that. They looked around from where Emma was hit from and saw HIM, Robert. They all felt sick seeing the horrifying sight of what was left of him. Then they heard three little beeps from Emma, she looked nervous and was gonna start talking..” guys i think–” boom. Emma was blown into many little pieces right on the spot. They hadn’t checked the hit to the back; he had placed a bomb on her. She was gone, she was really gone just like that. Jay froze, tears filling her eyes as she covered her mouth. Sam looked very horrified, and scared despite always cracking a joke when something bad happens… He couldn’t even speak. And Xarian stared, not knowing if this was real life; one of his best friends was gone in a second.

Then Sam felt another tug at the heart. He looked around, getting farther away from Xarian and Jay, not by will. Xarian turned to Sam, “Sam, what are you doing…?” Sam turned to him, not being able to talk before getting jolted forward again. It was like his legs were moving on their own, it was like..gravity was pulling him away, he jolted forward again and again before his heart was suddenly ripped out, veins included. He dropped to the floor, dead immediately.

Jay screamed, “What the hell is happening?!?!” She turned to Xarian, tears falling from his eyes now. He slowly turned towards Jay, “W-we have to go! Now!!” he ran over to grab Jay’s arm and run. Jay was thrown back into a wall by nothing but sheer gravity. It was like each one of her limbs was being pulled different ways, she sobbed, knowing this was it. As each one of her limbs were pulled off her body, all from different ways, Xarian stood there. Now alone with Robert in the shadows. He shuddered, looking around at the bloody mess around him. Silence washes over the place. It was so cold. He looked up to holler for help, but, looking up, a big bowl of acid was lifted above… This was it. And he knew this, he swallowed the sadness in his mind. The trauma of the deaths, and the happiness of what used to be. “Truly, I know.. We did what we needed in this world,” he muttered before the acid tray fully came along him; he felt numb.

After everything, Robert tosses the bowl to the side with his newfound powers and stares at the aftermath of his vengeance. He felt a strange ping of guilt, of dread. Playing the scene in his mind over and over, analyzing the death of his loved. It was him, wasn’t it? He was one of the machines that day; he was the closest to her… He knew that he did this for no reason; he had taken out the anger he had for himself on these heroes. These teens he was the villains. He was the reason; he killed her, it was always him. But no one sees themselves as a villain until they lose the good and see only the bad in them.
