Chapter 1: Meet J.T.

I gasped for breath, and I could feel that I was sweating hard. Dang it, that bloody dream. I hated it. I shook my head, trying to forget it, and looked at my clock. 8:30AM. Well, shoot. I’m late. I rushed to my closet, looking for the clothes I wanted. I stopped for a second, then exited the closet and looked at my desk. And would you believe it, there the clothes I was looking for were.

It took a bit longer than I wanted for me to put my clothes on, so I teleported down the stairs to the kitchen to grab a poptart before I headed off to where I had to be.. “Do you really have TIME to eat that?” A voice in my head told me. “Kittia, I’m gonna eat in the car, and you know that,” I stated while looking for the keys to my ‘69 Shelby GT500. “However, you could be useful and help me find my keys.”
Kittia didn’t reply. I sighed, then covered my hand in a blue aura, my personal aura to be precise. I located the keys, grabbed them, and headed out the door to the car. I hated Kittia a lot sometimes. Kittia is my hyper-intelligence, by the way. That’s the only reason I put up with him. And Kittia knows this too, and takes total advantage of this just to tick me off.

I took a deep look at my car as I walked to the driver’s side. I had painted it sapphire-blue and added a blue tint to the windows, and boy did it look good. I had customized it to perfection, adding modifications and upgrades while keeping the shape of the car intact. And, admittedly, as much as I love this car, FINDING the car itself was one hell of a challenge. I’ll tell that story later.

I got in the car and turned it on, and boy did it roar. I checked the dashboard’s high-tech head unit for the time once more before I took a bite out of my poptart. 8:45. I choked on my poptart, then immediately pushed the gas pedal to the floor. Nononononononononononononono, I thought. I’m seriously late. The cars’ tires spun before immediately taking off down the dirt driveway, and I took a hard right, drifting as I did, and shot off like a rocket.

For those of you wondering, I am currently running late for the Ultimatia Acceptance Trials Exam. Ultimatia is the school I’ve gone to since I was 5, and today I have the honor of announcing the start of the exam, unless the school headmasters decided against it. Wait a minute. I haven’t introduced myself, have i?. Well, my name is J.T. Catia, and I’m 16 years old. I was born September 1st, 9107. I also happen to be one of the few people in my world to have a special all-type ability, and the ONLY person to have a God Level Auric Tier ability, and my ability is called Aura. My Aura happens to be the strongest power in existence, not to mention the coolest. Don’t worry, I’ll explain Aura more later.

I quickly checked the gps to see how far from Ultimatia I was. The GPS said 100 miles. I responded by flipping some switches on the dashboard, activating ALL the engines in the car, increasing the top speed. My car has a total of 16 V8 AultraMax Hyperstorm Sapphire Edition engines, and I don’t even know how much horsepower ONE of these engines have. Like I said, I did a lot of customization and modding to this car. Oh, look. I can now see Ultimatia in the distance. I put the pedal to the floor, and raced to the school.

Rocky Steps

Frantic breaths, gasps for air, and the steaming sweat crawling down my back irritate me as I grip my knees while looking at the rocky ground. Two friends make distance ahead of me as they continue on the steep trail leading to the peak. “Wyatt!” One yells while waving at me “Hurry up man! Or you are going to miss it!” As he finishes stringing together his words he continues to walk forward without me. But in the time it took him to utter those seemingly encouraging words he is overtaken by the frantic mess that is our other friend with them nearing the end of the long trail.

Why had I gone on this trip? Instead of hearing birds chirping, and going on a brisk walk, why had I started to climb this ‘mountain’ with two adrenaline junkies, at this point not even I know. All I can hear now is my beating heart as it pops out of my chest from the strain of the adventure. But instead of continuing to complain about the scorching heat, or the pain in my legs, or about how I feel sick like I had already done so much today. I just decided to keep on trudging forward.

Yet something in my chest aside from that excruciating pain had come alive. Like a match had been lit, the air around me felt like a calming soothing cold, the breeze on my back felt as if it had been a fan with its intensity, and the heat had almost dissipated. Lifting my poor head I could see why those two had been so keen on going. The trail going up the hill was lush, yellow and white flowers between lush green fields popped to my trailing off eyes. And I could see my two friends at the top waving me down.

My legs on fire took control of my body, Instead of my clumsy nonchalant pace I had been going I for some reason felt this urge to run. To run away from my previous self, to run into a life I always wanted to have, to run toward my friends at the peak of the hill. And as I did I felt the air sweep thru my hair, I felt the wind on my face, and I could feel the palpitations in my chest. All of it compiling into a euphoric feeling till eventually I slowed.

I had made it to the top, not by myself. We were at the top of a hill surrounded by some of the most beautiful sights of nature. You could see the tall brown oak, the streaming rivers flowing down from the mountain, and the lush green fields of the pasture where sheep were grazing. The fear was gone. And in its place I felt accomplished. I for once felt proud. And finally I felt at home.

Chapter 2: Ultimatia

As I reached the city limits I flipped the switches off, which decreased my top speed and decelerated me at the same time. Did I mention that Ultimatia is a city-school? It’s also the biggest city-school too. When I saw the exit I needed to take, I grabbed the clutch, preparing to drift the on-ramp loop. “Drift at a 38 degree angle if you want to maintain speed and burn some rubber too,” Kittia told me. I nodded, and did exactly that.

Now, if I’m honest, Kittia and I get along MUCH more than we disagreed, especially when it comes to stuff like this. But we still hate each other, because my brain doesn’t brain without him, and he can’t exist without me. That’s the honest truth. The only reason I’m intelligent is because he’s constantly helping me. I once did 2 IQ tests, one with Kittia, and one without, and let’s just say there was a…. Yeah, never mind. And we accidentally discovered if Kittia isn’t within a 1 mile radius of me, he actually starts disintegrating. That wasn’t a good day.

I finished the drift and drove onto the bridge before I had to immediately brake, turning as I did and nearly flipping the car in the process. Where in the heck did all these people come from?! I immediately thought. I didn’t see them before I reached the exit, and I really should’ve because there were a LOT. “W-What in the…” Kittia trailed. Well, shoot, I thought. Even KITTIA didn’t see OR sense them. In other words, they LITERALLY appeared out of thin air. But how?

I fixed my car’s position to make it face forward on the street, and then I revved the engine. And just like that, the crowd parted. Mmm, crowd control. I put the car in drive, and I sped down the road. It didn’t take long before I reached the Exam Grounds, so I took a little time to find a parking spot. I noticed a sign on an open parking spot, so I read the sign. “Reserved for J.T. Catia, The Announcer of the beginning of the Acceptance Trials Exam”. Cool, I thought and I pulled towards it before I noticed the MASSIVE number of people around it. And all of them looked like they were there specifically for me.

So, there are a few things I think I should mention about myself. I happen to be rather famous for multiple reasons. The first is that I currently hold the record for youngest person to ever enter Ultimatia, which I entered when I was 5 years old. And Ultimatia itself is a HIGH SCHOOL. So yeah, I’d be famous for that. The second reason is for something that happened when I was 4 years old. I don’t talk about that incident much. The third reason is also related to the second reason, due to what happened in that incident and the surrounding factors, I ended up owning the top 10 biggest multi-sextillion dollar companies when I was 5. Yeah… a lot of stuff happened then that I’m still confused about. And lastly, the final reason is because of my power. Due to the fact that it is the most powerful power in existence, it is a common news report made DAILY. Yep.

As I pulled closer to my parking spot, the crowd separated to let me in and was evidently getting excited at my arrival. “Kittia,” I said nervously. “Teleport immediately out of the car when you put it in park,” Kittia responded, sensing my unease. “Try to aim for about 10-20 yards straight ahead.” and that’s what I did. The moment my car was in the parking spot and in park, the crowd swarmed my car. But by then I had already teleported out of the car. And I may have overshot it, because I ended up 50 yards straight, and I reappeared behind a group of about 9 people. Great. Just my luck.
