ISSUE VII

Editor’s Note

Each and every year the editors here at Ink & Venom are astounded to wake from their winter hibernation and find green sprouts of creativity all over this school. Somehow, despite the chaos that rules spring semester, SMHS students have found time to grow artwork out of the asphalt. Our team tries (very hard) to provide you with plenty of fertilizer; this issue, we hosted our first ever contest, centering around the idea of home! I think you’ll be pretty impressed with our winner. Also in this issue: love poems, VASE pieces, sports photos and more. As always, our magazine is created out of the brilliant minds of SMHS. To everyone featured here today, thank you so much for sharing your creativity with us. We truly appreciate it.

Brynn Gardner (Co-Editor-in-Chief of Ink & Venom)

Evelyn says about her piece: “My piece was showing my two best friends. Home to me, at least, is a warm, safe, inviting place, and I’ve never been in a place so bright and comforting as their presence.” Congratulations Evelyn! Thank you to everyone who submitted to the contest. Your hard work and creativity did not go unnoticed.
