“Run! It’s a Beast!” A small peasant shouts. The farm is being attacked by a Beast. The razor sharp claws of the Beast tear through the livestock.
It ravages through the lush crops. It roars with fear & terror. It leaps into the house, traumatizing the peasant’s family. No sticks will hit its tough hide. It makes a series of whoops, like it’s taunting the poor people.
Bigger than a Tiger, leaner than a Horse, & with one eye, this beast is hideous. As it runs to another house, the creature has backwards-facing feet, & no tail. More Beasts arrive, attacking more & more houses. The sheer amount of Beasts is unsettling, as if they planned to invade. Some took to the skies; These ones were the size of Eagles, but they were emaciated, & had Bat-like membranes. One enormous Beast, flippers of an Otter, face of a Frog, dominated the nearby ocean, destroying the small fishing boats.
As a single flare was shot into the air, it was still pain & suffering. The Beasts continue to plunder the town’s resources. Livestock & crops have either been devoured, or destroyed. The Gluttons don’t stop, until everything is gone. When all hope was lost, there was still one beacon of said hope.
What looked like a man, standing higher than any Elephant, & made from a powerful metal, this entity, painted reddish yellow, glows a heavenly light behind it. All Beasts look intensely, thinking of a way. But there was no way. With just his finger, “The Noble” shot out a heavenly blast, which destroyed the Beasts. Every single one became ashes with the blink of an eye.
The quicker ones fled back to where they came from. The clumsier ones had what was coming to them. The Noble wasn’t little, but he was too late. The livelihood of this town has decreased significantly. These people have been conquered every Spring, & by a different threat.
From the vicious Barbarians, to Kolosotos the Vampiric, & even Gobos, a ferocious world-ender. They want to live peacefully, but they will never know that. They’re desperate. But with the Noble not posing a threat, they all cheer for said man of metal. While he leaves on sunset, his men help the townsfolk rebuild their community.
The people struggle finding food, only having remnants of their past civilization. But with the Noble, they hope that life will get better every Spring, & hopefully, can last them until winter arrives…
